Walks in Nature is a series of books and walking cards developed by Design by Nature and published by Hardie Grant. Each is a guide that highlights easily accessible trails and hikes, encouraging people to reconnect with the natural world around them.

Originally published in 2010, and re-released in 2017, 2020, and 2022, the Walks in Nature series covers places to wander across Tasmania, Melbourne and Sydney.

The series subverts the traditional bushwalking book format, which is typically informative but dry. We wanted to create a beautifully designed product that was richly photographic and highly inspirational.

The cover photos feature stunning imagery by Hello Emilie of Instagram fame, pulling the viewer into the frame and the landscape.

The book is organised by colour, season and location with easy-to-use maps and immersive photography.

Walks In Nature regularly features on best-selling book lists and has been one of our most popular titles.
