The International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) engaged Design by Nature to deliver a brand refresh aligned with their 2025–2035 strategic plan. The brief was to modernise IWDA’s identity to connect with a new generation of donors while maintaining relevance for their existing global network of advocates, philanthropists, and partners.
We began with a strategic discovery phase, developing two brand personas – the fierce advocate and the caring feminist sage – to guide the creative direction. Our team worked closely with IWDA to shape a refreshed identity that balanced boldness with care. We introduced a dual-tone colour palette that combined vibrant, empowering hues with softer, more welcoming tones. The refreshed brand voice remained rooted in IWDA’s values: bold, warm, compassionate, and decolonial. A flexible graphic system was built around the ‘D’ in the logo, supported by a custom icon set and inclusive imagery created in collaboration with diverse female creatives.
The outcome is a thoughtful, future-facing identity that honours IWDA’s legacy while opening space for new audiences. Visually cohesive and deeply values-led, the brand now speaks with clarity, inclusivity, and renewed energy.
