Sam Cox Landscape designs and builds native gardens in the Australian natural style pioneered by Melbourne designers Edna Walling, Ellis ‘Rocky’ Stones and Gordon Ford. By using native plants and local materials, they bring the essence of the bush into the everyday lives of their clients.

Design by Nature was engaged to craft a new brand in the spirit of Sam’s work. A simple wordmark was developed in a timeless typeface that seems both classic and contemporary.

A supporting rock graphic device was added to the brand’s visual toolkit, which reflects Sam’s approach to developing fluid landscapes without straight lines.

Sam’s approach is in the tradition of noted bush garden designer, Gordon Ford who used concepts such as mass and void and non-defined boundaries, eliminating the perception of artificial elements. Sam shares this approach, creating timeless landscapes with a sense of place.
